About Us
In 1973, Hulda Roper (first Lincoln female police officer) and the Seventh-day Adventist Churches of Lincoln saw a need for basic and emergency needs in our community. They founded the Good Neighbor Community Center (GNCC). Over the years, GNCC has provided emergency food, clothing and household items in a kind, understanding environment. Each client is personally welcomed through an individual interview and encouraged to participate in our programs.

More churches other than the Seventh Day Adventist Churches have joined us in helping the Center bring services to the Lincoln Community by participating in various ways. We are also collaborating with other agencies who provide us with services and volunteers (see our affiliates page).

Our Vision
We are an accepting environment that meets basic human needs and provide culturally sensitive services offering social, educational, physical, and spiritual direction. Individuals and families are empowered with positive life-changing skills, making a tangible and intangible impact in the community.
